What We’re Doing for the Health and Safety of Our Guests
As of December 1, 2021, Fiji is open to quarantine-free travel coming from certain travel partner countries.
We are thrilled to welcome you back and want to make traveling as easy as possible for you!
Please find some of Fiji’s required travel guidelines below — and you’ll also learn what we are doing at Namale to ensure you have a safe, comfortable and relaxing visit.
The Care Fiji Commitment
Fiji is recognized as a “Safe Travels” destination by the World Travel and Tourism Council thanks to The Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) — a World Health Organization-approved standard of best-practice health and safety measures for travel.

Before Your Visit
All travelers to Namale must meet Fiji’s travel requirements, including:
• Travelers over age 18 must show proof of vaccination (Astra-Zeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson) 14 days prior to leaving their home country
• Travelers ages 4 and above must take a PCR test before traveling within 72 hours (3 days) of your flight departure to Fiji and test negative
• Travelers pay for their own PCR testing
• Travelers must have proof of a reservation at a Care Fiji Commitment property
When you arrive in Fiji, you will go through Fiji Immigration and Customs. Namale guests must transfer at the airport directly to the Domestic Travel Terminal and Fiji Linx Airlines. Once there, you will check-in and board your flight to Savusavu on the island of Vanua Levu where Namale is located.
Upon arrival at the Savusavu airport, you will be greeted by one of our Namale staff who will take care of your luggage and escort you to one of our resort vehicles for the 10-minute ride to the Namale Resort. All Namale guest transportation vehicles are CFC-certified.
Once checked in at Namale, guests are required for the first 48 hours to remain exclusively within and on the Namale Resort. Guests have full use of all Namale amenities but are prohibited from leaving the property or participating in the off-property excursions during that 48-hour period.
Rapid testing 48 hours after your arrival
At Namale, our Wellness Ambassadors will help facilitate your required rapid test.
Travelers must take a rapid test 48 hours (2 days) after arrival on the property for a fee of $30 FJD | $15 USD | $20 AUD.
Negative Test Result
After a negative test result, guests may leave the resort property to visit COVID safe zones and for excursions.
Visits to remote areas of Fiji are prohibited.
Positive Test Result
In the event of a positive test, you will be required to quarantine for 10 days.
In the event that your quarantine goes past your stay at Namale, you will complete your quarantine at our newly renovated sister property, the Wasawasa Lodge at your cost.
Your stay should be covered by your travel insurance; however, in the event of quarantine, you will need to cover the costs of your room upfront and be reimbursed by your insurance later. The package for your stay includes three meals daily but no room service or alcohol.
At the end of the 10-day quarantine, you will need to produce a negative test.
Most travelers will need to take another COVID test before re-entering their country and test negative.
The type of test required is determined by the country you are returning to:
For countries requiring PCR tests
(i.e., New Zealand, Australia)
PCR tests must be administered 72 hours before your scheduled international departure flight.
For countries requiring a rapid test only
(i.e., United States)
Namale can facilitate testing on the property up until the day before departure.
For those taking a rapid test on the day of departure, Namale can help arrange same-day testing at a facility in Nadi (the main island where the international airport is).
A negative test allows you to travel home as planned.

Your 10-day quarantine must be completed in rooms set aside for you at our sister property, Wasawasa Lodge.
Testing positive in Nadi
The Ministry of Health will transport you from the testing facility to a Fiji government-designated hotel. The testing facility and airport staff will assist you with these arrangements.
Other Departure Considerations
All quarantine costs including accommodations, meals, testing and other expenses are the responsibility of the traveler.
Be sure to review your specific country’s re-entry requirements before your trip so you are prepared for testing.
If you contract COVID-19 during your stay in Fiji and test positive, you will need to extend your stay by 10 days at your expense.
It is highly recommended that all travelers to Fiji and Namale obtain travel-related medical insurance that covers any and all COVID-related care, quarantine costs and other associated expenses.
Purchasing travel insurance for your trip is highly recommended in the event you need to quarantine in Fiji. Make sure your travel insurance covers COVID-19 quarantine before your stay to avoid unexpected costs.
Enhanced Safety Measures
At Namale, your health and safety are our top priority.
Our staff is fully trained in COVID-19 protocols, and we have implemented additional safety measures so you don’t have to worry during your visit.
Enhanced cleaning in all bures and common areas with WHO-certified cleaning supplies
Staff will wear face coverings when interacting with guests in enclosed spaces
Hand sanitizer will be available for guests all over the resort
Face coverings are available for guests
Namale will have three trained Wellness Ambassadors to assist you during your stay.
Our ambassadors have been trained in all COVID-19 safety protocols and will help you with the required tests upon your arrival and before your departure.
You will be greeted by our Wellness Ambassadors when you arrive, and they can answer your questions about health and safety.
As we re-open Namale after our closure, some of our available amenities, menus and activities have changed and may not be available at this time. However, we promise that your stay will still be the experience of a lifetime!
