Planning Your Journey to Fiji
Whether you’re traveling from the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Europe, or another part of the world, you’ll book flights to Fiji that arrive at Nadi International Airport (NAN). This is the international airport hub, located on the western side of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu.
Arriving at Nadi International Airport
Once you arrive at NAN airport, you will take a connecting flight to Savusavu Airport (SVU), located on the island of Vanua Levu. The flight from NAN to SVU takes approximately one hour, ensuring you arrive in the charming town of Savusavu quickly!
How to Get to Namale Resort & Spa
After touching ground in Savusavu, you’re just minutes from our adults-only, all-inclusive resort.
When you stay with us, we’ll arrange a complimentary ground transfer to pick you up at the airport and bring you to the resort. The shuttle ride takes just 10 minutes, dropping you right off at the steps to our slice of paradise.
Tips for Planning Flights to Fiji
Experts recommend booking your flights to Fiji two to eight months in advance of your getaway. Booking early helps you secure the best rates and your preferred travel dates.
When deciding when to travel, it’s important to understand Fiji’s high and low seasons. Our Peak season runs from May to October, offering beautiful tropical weather, while the Off-Peak season spans from November to April.
Once you’ve booked your flights, familiarize yourself with the airport and airline requirements. Determine luggage limits and baggage rules ahead of time, and look into customs or import restrictions, such as rules on traveling with certain plants, foods, or animal products. Also, keep in mind that most airports require international travelers to arrive three hours before their departure time.
Travel Documents and Entry Requirements
When you plan to travel to Fiji, your passport must be valid. It must also be valid for up to six months after your departure date.
Upon arrival in Fiji, you will need to show proof of a return or onward ticket. You may also need to provide your resort reservation confirmation details. The airport officials may also ask for proof of travel insurance. While travel insurance is not legally required, we recommend purchasing a policy to help protect you against unforeseen events or unexpected losses during your stay.
The good news is that you do not need to apply for a visa before your travels. You will receive a Visitor’s Visa upon arrival, which allows you to stay in Fiji for up to four months. If you plan to stay longer, you must contact the Fiji Ministry of Immigration and apply for the appropriate visa.
